It is amazing what you discover when you google your own name.
      Your pictures are amazing.
I hope everything is good with your husband.
I will be keeping him and yourself in my prayers.

      Gaye

  • Chloe,
    Thanks very much!

  • So sorry to read this! I´m sending you my best wishes for his recovery.

  • Today I helped my husband to a nursing home for rehab. We’re hoping this will help him. The home is just ten minutes from our home so that’s good. I can be there often.
I also got a little FLIP MINO HD video camera. It is tiny and easy to carry. It’s smaller than a pack of cigarettes- thinner and more narrow. I can get video movies with it and can send them to our kids…it’s a little gem!
Thanks to you all for your concern and comforting comments.

  • Sorry about your husband Gaye hope things turn out for you !

  • Bernie, many thanks! We are hopeful– and eventually I’ll get my BLOG up and running again. It’s been so nice to meet good folks on the blog too…like you :-)

  • I just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you both. I hope his stay in rehab is short and he can return home very soon.

  • Thanks very much, Laurie. It’s looking like he’ll be there a month and then not sure of the future. But we take it a day at a time….

  • I will continue to keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

  • HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO YOU ALL!

  • so very sorry to hear of more health problems. i wrote earlier that i hoped that everything would continue to improve. i certainly still do! these things can be so difficult, i am a health care worker, and personally have been though many things with family and do understand very well. the waiting to see what to do next can be one of the most difficult. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. God Bless

  • Thank you very much, Florida Sunshine!
We’re taking this a day at a time here so it’s hard to focus on anything else like my blog. I miss it though………will be back ASAP!

  • Dear Gaye,
I pray that the Lord will carry you and your husband during this difficult time and that His will be done in your lives. He is your strength and comfort.
Thanks for sharing with us through your blog, both in words and photos.
    Karen

  • gaye, just do what you need to do for your family and yourself. we will be here waiting for more of your insightful photography and messages, later. i have a quote that i would like to share with you- “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. they must be felt with the heart”. – Helen Keller- she was another very insightful person, although she never had the ability to be able to visually see or hear. to do what you are able to do with your photography or to try to comfort through the touch of a helping hand. God showed her the way. as he wants to be there for us, he is always. isn`t it ironic though sometimes we are just too blind to see, or too deaf to hear him right here with us.

  • Still thinking of you and your husband. Writing about sensitive matters in a foreign language is difficult. But I can send my thoughts and hopes.

  • Oh my goodness! You are all so thoughtful. Thanks to you, Carsten and Karen for the recent posts. I am a bit overwhelmed by your kindness..Please know I appreciate every word and thought that you send to us.

  • Thinking of you and hoping you are doing ok. Miss you!

    Laurie

  • Thanks so much, Laurie. Stan is home and we have gone from 24 hour a day help to 8 hours a day. I’m doing the other 16 hour shift. One of these days I will be back blogging…and not too far away. I did find an Osprey and a Sandhill Crane in my backyard today. I got pictures and hope to post them here later. Thanks again!

  • Your following still desires to hear from you. Life can be so difficult at times. Your blogging friends care and miss you.

  • We’re doing better here. I still hope to be back to you great blogging friends soon. I have missed you all. We have a helper for my husband eight hours a day so our days are full…but at least we’re still alive and getting better.

    Thanks to you all!

    Gaye

  • You have been missed, and hopefully received a lot of wishes.
It is very good to know that your husbands situation is improving.
It is SO good to read this message from you. -It is worrying not hearing news.

  • I’m sorry, I forgot:
Good luck to both of you.

  • Thank you, Carsten. Your message is very appreciated and comforting.

We did get a new puppy through out the health issues. That makes three Shih Tzu dogs for us.
He, Lemley, is now eight months old so he’s learned a lot and so have we.

I will get a picture of the three of them on my blog very soon. That will get me started again.

    Thanks again to you, Carsten!

  • That’s good incentive to get them all bathed and trimmed….and thanks for the ‘welcome back’!

  • I’ll be looking for those doggie photos, too! Hope all is as well as it can be.

  • Scott,
You are so nice to write. Thanks very much!

  • Hi Gaye…It has been a while since I dropped you a note and I just wanted to let you know that I continue to be thinking of you and Stan.

That is fun news about the new puppy. :)

    Laurie

  • A new puppy must have brought joy to your home. I, too, am eagerly anticipating a photo of your “baby.” I am glad to hear of your husband’s improvement and the help that you’re getting at home. Hang in there; I’m praying for you.

  • Thanks to you all. I’m trying to post a picture of our three Shih Tzu dogs and can’t figure out how to do it…..so I’ll be back when I get my blog figured out again. It seems to have changed since I was here last.
You all have given me much encouragement. I appreciate everything. Now I hope to get back into the swing of things here. I’ve missed you all.

  • Gaye, if you want to post a photo in a very easy way, it is now possible to send a photo in an email, – to your blog! The only thing you need to find is your wordpress-email adresse, which you can see in Dashboard/my blogs.

  • Dear Gaye,
I hope you are tired of blogging and have found other ways to use your time and creativity.
-Although I have a bad feeling that this is not the case…
My thoughts frequently travels to Florida, but they do not bring anything back. May they touch your chin now and then…

  • Thanks to you all and to Carsten, We’ve had tough months.
Our son died ten days ago. He was 51 and had cancer. We are doing okay here for now. We have help for my husband eight hours a day. So there’s not much time for blogging even though I really want to get going again. It was such fun to get to know you all….and to enjoy your pictures..I definitely will return in the near future because I do enjoy the blogging and the process. You all make me feel very good and I thank you!

  • Oh, I am so sorry for you.
    Receive my condolences.

I can not find any right words for the terrible situation it is to loose a child. 51 or 5.

I really hope your husband will get better soon, and that you will be back here. It might even contribute to healing the loss a tiny bit.

    Carsten

  • Oh, Gaye….what can I say? I’m so sorry for your trials and for the loss of your son. From one Mother to another, please accept my condolences. I will send some prayers for healing and peace your way.
    ~KD

  • Thanks to you, Carsten and KD.
We are putting pieces back together here and slowly we are enlightened….friends of Guy’s are contacting us every day and this is so comforting. And we’re learning more and more about him in his own world….a real joy in all the sadness.

My plan is to get back to blogging soon. In fact my interest in photography is coming back and the birds out back certainly help ..They seem to be teasing me into thinking about them and how they’d look in print :-)

    Thank you very much!

  • Dear Gaye.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss, please accept my condolences to you and your family.

  • Hi Gaye,

Haven’t seen anything of yours for a long time, so I thought to check in with you!
I’m so sorry about your son – and that your hubbie needs constant care. But I hope at least you are well and find at least a little bit of time to do what you love doing.
    Cheers, Klaus
