SEVERAL PICTURES USING SILVER EFEX TO DO B&W CONVERSION

This Little Blue Heron (thanks to Klaus for the ID) was out by my backyard lake this evening. I ran out with my Nikon D3 and Nikon 180mm f/2.8 (Kenko 1.4 teleconverter attached).  I couldn’t do much with the picture because I was shooting mostly into the sun…..but want to show what the Photoshop plugin called NIK SILVER EFEX can do.  It’s a black and white converter and it has many choices of how the picture can look. I’m showing three but it can do many more.

My husband got the software for my birthday and I wasn’t impressed until using it yesterday  for the first time.  Now I will use it whenever possible.

There are so many good programs out there to help photographers.  It’s fun to find one that is  helpful to me and so much fun to use.

In yesterday’s post I used this software to make the picture of the ‘Little Blue Heron’. it’s  called

Antique Plate II

I’ll do more tomorrow and use pictures that show off the process better than these today.

  • Chrisy,
Thanks very much! I hope to post more today using that NIK software. It is not only easy but it’s fun to use because each click brings up a new look in the picture.
