This is a series of softball pitching pictures that I took recently. This little girl was two years younger than other players on her team but her pitching made up for it. The other girls were much bigger but guess that’s not an issue when pitching.
I took all these pictures with the Nikon D300 DSLR camera and the 70-200mm F2.8 VR lens. All handheld because of the VR and also had to be moving around the field fast to get pictures.
I should have moved the ISO higher because could only get 1/200th shutter speed the way I did it at ISO200. Next time I’ll up that ISO to around 800 and get faster shutter speed and less action blur.
Anyone know that rule of thumb about shutter speed and focal length? Is it double the shutter?
That’s one I should learn and use in the future. Thanks for any help on this question.

Bernie,
Thank you very much for noticing. And they were fun to take because of the youthful action and enthusiasm in my viewfinder
